Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it best to use stoneware when making sculptures?

Stoneware is a stronger choice. It's non-porous, waterproof, and doesn't chip. However, the quality of the final product will depend of the quality and purity of which ever clay you choose.

As a general rule though, Stoneware and Porcelain will be the two more durable forms of ceramic.

Stoneware is a great choice for creating sculptures.

What is slow homeware?

Purchasing and decorating with slow homewares represents a design trend characterised by the thoughtful curation of furnishings introduced into the home.

This concept stands in contrast to the prevailing culture of rapid consumption and quick decorating, where the focus is often on expeditious outcomes rather than meaningful, lasting investments.

At Gifu, we're on board with slow living and encourage people to take their time when choosing furniture, decorations, and accessories for their home, considering factors such as craftsmanship, materials, and timeless design aesthetics.
